Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will provide routine/non-routine qualitative and
quantitative LC-UV/MS support for discovery chemistry and biology programs
for Neuroscience and Infectious Diseases, which includes small molecule work
as well as protein/peptide analyses. Responsibilities will include operating
and maintaining LC-MS and MALDI-MS instrumentation, hardware and software.
Participate in evaluations of new technologies and development of innovative
analytical methods for increased productivity and efficiency. Provide
experimental measurements as part of an interdisciplinary problem-solving
team and will be responsible for timely communications with scientists.

Job Requirements/Education:

Ph.D. in Chemistry, specialization in Analytical Chemistry preferred.
Requires minimum of 0 – 2 years relevant experience. Pharmaceutical industry
experience preferred.

Other:

This position requires a solid background in analytical chemistry and strong
experimental skills using modern analytical instrumentation. Knowledge and
understanding of the practical, theoretical, and hands-on aspects of
analytical chemistry are required. Technical experience with the following
modern analytical chemistry techniques is required: liquid and gas
chromatography (HPLC, GC), mass spectrometry (MS, MS/MS, MALDI), hyphenated
techniques (HPLC/MS, GC/MS), and computer based instrumentation. Experience
with quantitation by LC/MS or LC/MS/MS is highly desired. Familiarity with
the utilization of computer based applications, automation software, data
processing software, report writing and spreadsheet data reduction is
preferred. The individual must also possess good written and verbal
communication skills and be able to work highly independent in a dynamic
changing environment where a high degree of teamwork, collaboration and
sharing are encountered on a daily basis.
